About The

|
Two restaurateurs from New York
and Maine, John B. Smigielski and Mark McGuy, have
teamed up to operate the former Bentliff's Ocean
Grill, under the new name of the Davis Island
Grill, a.k.a. The DIG, located at The Sheepscot
Harbour Village & Resort. John was the former
Director of Operations at the Newagen Seaside Inn
for almost a decade and part owner of the Lawnmere
Inn. He opened the Historic Russell House
Restaurant in Boothbay Harbor including Mid Coast
Laundry and the Captain Daniel Stone Inn, located
in Brunswick Maine. He most recently left his
position as General Manager of Heartland Brewery
in Times Square, New York City. Mark has owned and
operated his own restaurants for the past 25
years, and has worked in all facets of the
hospitality industry.
Combined, John and
Mark bring over eighty years of hospitality
experience to The DIG, and they intend to operate
as a full service, year round restaurant, using
fresh local products and ingredients. The DIG
offers a full regional menu, featuring
international cuisine, inspired by the seasons,
and features Maine Micro Brews, wines and spirits.
John and Mark also plan to offer a full complement
of food, beverage and catering services to the
resort community. As owners and residents of the
community, Mark and John look forward applying
their extensive hospitality experience to enhance
the current services and property, to a premier
resort level. |
